For Unit 1 and 2 learners should always make reference to the very latest data protection legislation in their responses. The Data Protection Act 2018, which supplements the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), is currently the latest and changes have been made to the third edition of the Revision Guide to reflect this.
For Unit 2, learners will now need to produce and submit electronic evidence of entity relationship diagrams for their database in the form of screenprints. Amends have been made to reflect this in the third edition of the Revision Guide.
For Unit 2, references to data dictionaries in the Revision Guide have now been updated to 'table designs' to reflect changes to the assessment. On pages 85 – 86 of the third edition, learners are now guided to produce their database table designs electronically, and to produce evidence of them as screenprints, rather than as data dictionaries.
For Unit 2, references to 'design documentation' have been removed from the third edition of the Revision Guide as students are no longer required to produce such documentation as part of their actual assessment.
For Unit 2, learners no longer produce logs of testing the whole system, but submit screenprints of a test log and tests for input forms. Amends have been made to the third edition of the Revision Guide to reflect this. Changes have also been made to the third edition to reflect the fact that learners no longer need to add annotations to any of their screenprints.
